If you are intending to apply for any grants for non profit organizations it is a good idea to know what kinds are available. In this article we provide a brief description of the kinds of grants that your non profit organization could actually be eligible for.
Grant 1 – Unrestricted
An unrestricted grant is one that your organization can use according to your own discretion, as you aren’t limited to using them for the purpose that they were first intended to be used for. These types of grants are available and cannot only be used to start up or support a project they can be also used to cover expenses, such as staff wages, rental of an office space or stationary supplies.
Grant 2 – Restricted
With this type of grants for non profit organizations you will have to use the funds provided as decided by those who have dispensed them to you. As you would expect with this type of grant those who have provided them will ask for evidence to show clearly that the funds have been used for the purpose stated in the application. Ideally this type of grant should be applied for when looking for funding to provide financial support to a specific project you are undertaking. You may well find that before the application for such a grant is accepted that you will need to provide a good business plan.
Grant 3 – In Kind
Of all the grants for non profit organizations available today this one is different from the others, as you won’t be actually provided with financial support. Wit this type you are actually provided with certain goods or services that your organization needs in order to allow it to continue to operate. Plus this type of grant is offered where aid for any stakeholders in the organization need it.
